The Eagle Eye Brake Monitor offers an electronic status of brake temperature, stroke and brake wear.

The in-cab graphic display is full colour and easy to read. With a touch of the screen, you can assess the status of the vehicle’s brakes en route.

Stroke

When you touch on the word “Stroke” on the Main Menu screen, the “Stroke Length” screen will appear.

The Eagle Eye Brake Monitor is able to monitor the stroke length of your brakes.

  • A green bar means that your stroke length is operating within acceptable parameters.
  • A yellow bar means that your stroke length may be too long or too short and proactive maintenance is required to make any necessary adjustments.
  • A red bar means that your stroke length is too long or too short and not operating within acceptable parameters. Your safety is at risk and you can be fined by transportation authorities. Maintenance is required to make the necessary adjustments.

Temperature

When you touch on the word “Temperature” on the Main Menu screen, the “Temperature” screen will appear.

The Eagle Eye Brake Monitor is able to monitor the temperature of your brakes.

The condition of brakes will fluctuate depending on how the driver uses them. Whether it’s a trip which requires a lot of stops or highway driving that does not, etc. Eagle Eye Brake Monitor is able to determine the temperature of all the brakes and will alert you if abnormal conditions occur. For example, an elevation in temperature may be due to a dragging brake which requires maintenance.

Wear

When you touch on the word “Wear” on the Main Menu screen, the “Wear” screen will appear.

The Eagle Eye Brake Monitor is able to monitor foundation brake wear.

With awareness of how much brake wear is occurring at each wheel end, the maintenance team will know if servicing is required.
  • A green bar means that the wear is acceptable and should operate within the desired parameters.
  • A yellow bar means that the wear has progressed enough to cause concern. Proactive maintenance is required to make any necessary adjustments or to replace worn parts.
  • A red bar means that the wear has reached the out-of-service level.
